Losing!

Posted on: December 1, 2010

So I am officially rapt this morning. Body test on the Wii reveals another 0.5 kg lost since yesterday, which now puts me in the “Ideal” section of the BMI test. I can’t get the smile off my face because I feel like it’s finally happening! Of course it’s not like I haven’t been this weight already this year, and I have a long way to go, but we’ve changed something and both Aaron and myself are dropping weight now. Because of one simple thing:

Eat less. (at night)

What we’ve done the last few nights is get Mum to serve up both of our plates like she usually would. We put one plate in the fridge for breakfast the next morning and then split the other plate between the both of us. We don’t actually end up any hungrier than we usually would after eating and it means we’ve got a nice breakfast rather than eating gross toast every morning (we have been going through emotional turmoil with our breakfast habits recently…) So we have a bigger breakfast, a small-ish lunch and a small dinner with a few healthy snacks throughout the day. I’ve reduced the sugar in my coffee to one instead of two and I’m still having 1-2 of them a day. And we certainly don’t feel guilty about having a small treat or a glass of wine.

I don’t want to be too pre-emptive in saying that this is it, I’m finally going to lose this weight, but it feels right this time, like we’re doing this for life rather than for the next few weeks. I am loving the exercise (although yesterday was sooooo hard cos I did it after coming home from work and I was exhausted) and my whole body feels awesome.

There you go – if that’s not inspiring enough for you then I don’t know what is!

I’m going to go and exercise now šŸ™‚
